Nearly 50% of Students Choose History and Geography for 2025 Graduation Exam

The 2025 national high school graduation exam in Vietnam has attracted 1,165,289

subjects of Math and Literature, students could freely choose two additional subjects. Social science subjects, such as History and Geography, were much more popular than natural science ones. Nearly 50% of students selected History and Geography for their exams.

Notably, fewer students registered for

. For example, Biology attracted only about 72,000 candidates, fewer applicants for the Math-Chemistry-Biology group at universities.

New subjects introduced in the exam showed large differences in registration. For instance, Economic and Legal Education had over 257,000 candidates, while Informatics had just over 7,000. Among technology subjects, Agricultural Technology was much more popular than Industrial Technology.

The trend was also clear among independent candidates, who preferred
