is often seen as a symbol of national pride and a gateway to global recognition. While some people believe such events bring numerous benefits to the host country, others argue that the costs and potential negative impacts outweigh the advantages. Although I acknowledge the reasons behind the latter view, I am still in favor of the former.

Critics argue that hosting international sports events can

and for several reasons. Chief among these is that the cost of preparing for such large-scale events is often extremely high, placing a that could otherwise be invested in healthcare, education, or housing. In some cases, the infrastructure built for these events becomes afterward, leading to wasted resources. Furthermore, rapid and increased tourism can displace local communities, cause , and , especially in developing countries.

Even so, I would argue that hosting international sports events brings significant economic and social benefits which outweigh the mentioned drawbacks. First, major events such as the Olympics or the FIFA World Cup attract tourists from around the world,
