Moscow Arrests 'Ukrainian Agent' in Assassination of Russian General

Russian authorities have

a suspect in the of General Yaroslav Moskalik, near Moscow. Ignat Kuzin, born in 1983, was for planting an explosive device in a Volkswagen Golf in the town of Balashikha, Moscow Province. The explosion led to the death of General Moskalik on April 25.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has labeled Kuzin as a Ukrainian

, with in Ukraine. According to FSB's statements, Kuzin was recruited in April 2023 by a coordinator in Kyiv. He moved to Moscow in the autumn of the same year, where he spent six months preparing for the assassination. Kuzin purchased the Volkswagen Golf in February, modified it with a bomb, and parked it near Moskalik’s residence, activating the device from Ukrainian territory.
